Family and Consumer Science is often referred to by the acronym FACS. It is a program of studies in which students are given the opportunity to develop skills and gain a better understanding of information ranging from basic nutritional knowledge and practices to parenting a child to preparing a healthy, well-balanced meal. For those students enrolled in the courses at Mahomet-Seymour High School, they have the opportunity to choose among six semester classes. The semester courses are Food and Nutrition, Hospitality and Culinary Arts, Child Development, FACS Skills, Adult Living, and Food Chemistry 1 and 2. Some courses have prerequisites, so please check the course descriptions web page to further understand these offerings.
