The Mahomet-Seymour Wrestling Team has a proud tradition which began in the 1968-69 season. Since then M-S has compiled 5 State Championships (1983, 1984, 1986, 1988, & 1989) and 15 top four finishes in the state overall. The school record total is currently 777 wins, 211 losses and 8 ties, a .780 winning percentage. The Bulldog Invitational has been renamed and dedicated to former Hall of Fame Wrestling Coach Marty Williams. The 32nd Annual Marty Williams Invitational took place on January 14th hosting 19 teams. Team placing as follows: Yorkville, Belleville West, Elmhurst York, Naperville Central, Rock Island, Andrew, Bloomington, Byron, Mahomet-Seymour, Sandwich, Mt. Zion, Champaign Central, Normal West, Bishop-McNamara, Carbondale, Shelbyville, Grant Park, St. Laurence, and Sacred Heart Griffin.
The Bulldogs placed 3rd in the Corn Belt Conference in 2012 and finished the season with a 11-10 dual meet record. The Bulldogs placed 3rd in the IHSA Regional and qualified 6 wrestlers to the Sectional and 2 to the Individual State Final: Tyler Moxley and Austin Armetta. Austin went on to walk in the Grand March and placed second at 160 lbs in AA.
