World Languages - Spanish II

 

Preliminar

 

The learner will be able to recognize and understand the following vocabulary in the target language:  saying who you are, personality, characteristics, daily activities and food, places in school and around town, saying how you feel, daily routine, making plans. 

 

The learner will be able to recognize, understand and review the following grammar in the target language:  definite and indefinite articles, subject pronouns, ser, adjectives, tener, gustar, ir, estar, present tense and stem-changing verbs.

 

The learner will be able to say who they are. 

 

The learner will be able describe personality characteristics.

 

The learner will be able to describe daily activities and food. 

 

The learner will be able to discuss places in school and around town. 

 

The learner will be able to say how you feel, daily routines and making plans. 

 

The learner will be able to use definite and indefinite articles. 

 

The learner will be able to use subject pronouns. 

 

The learner will be able to use verbs such as ser, tener, gustar, ir estar, regular present-tense verbs, stem-changing verbs.

Unidad I

 

The learner will be able to recognize and understand the following vocabulary in the target language:  going on a trip or vacation. 

 

The learner will be able to recognize, understand and review the following grammar in the target language:  direct and indirect object pronouns, Preterite of -AR verbs, Preterite of ir, ser, hacer, ver, dar.

 

The learner will be able to use vocabulary associated with going on a trip and vacation.

 

The learner will be able to describe food and understand cultural significances associated with festivities.

 

The learner will be able to describe the days of the weeks.

 

The learner will be able to describe places around town and daily activities.

 

The learner will be able to use grammatical concepts associated with direct and indirect object pronouns, preterite of ar, ir, ser, hacer, ver, dar, possessions, and prepositions of location.

Unidad 2

 

The learner will be able to recognize and understand the following vocabulary in the target language:  sports and health, daily routines, food, sports equipment, colors, clothing, classroom objects, parts of the body, telling time, places in school and around town.

 

The learner will be able to recognize, understand and review the following grammar in the target language:  preterite of er and ir verbs, demonstrative adjectives and pronouns, reflexive verbs, present progressive.

 

The learner will be able to discuss sports and health in the target language.

 

The learner will be able to describe daily routines in the target language.

 

The learner will be able to learn grammatical concepts associated with the preterite tense.

 

The learner will be able to learn reflexive verbs.

 

The learner will be able to learn present progressive tenses.

The learner will be able to recognize, understand and review the following grammar in the target language:  present tense of irregular yo verbs, pronouns after prepositions, preterite of ir stem-changing verbs, irregular preterite verbs.

 

The learner will be able to discuss clothing and shopping terms.

 

The learner will be able to learn and utilize present tense of irregular yo verbs.

 

The learner will be able to learn how to use pronouns after prepositions.

 

The learner will be able to use Preterite of ir stem-changing verbs as well as irregular Preterite verbs.

The learner will be able recognize past and present legends and stories in the target language. 

 

The learner will be able to learn the differences between the Imperfect and Preterit tenses to describe the past.

 

The learner will be able to learn irregular Preterit stem verbs.

 

The learner will be able to order food at a restaurant.

 

The learner will be able to translate a recipe.

 

The learner will be able to make formal affirmative and negative commands.

 

The learner will be able to learn how to use double object pronouns.

The learner will be able to recognize and understand the following vocabulary in the target language:  making movies, invitations to a premiere, daily routines, chores, school subjects, vacation activities, sports.

 

The learner will be able to recognize, understand and review the following grammar in the target language:  affirmative and negative commands, present subjunctive, spelling changes in the preterit.
