Fine Arts - I Drawing and Painting

 

Drawing

 

The learner will be able to practice obtaining a full range of values with various black and white and color drawing media, and will apply them in a series of drawing assignments of varying subjects.

 

  

 

The learner will be able to complete a one-hour homework drawing assignment each week in his sketchbook that reinforces skills being focused on in class.

 

The learner will be able to practice drawing and rendering to achieve a three-dimensional effect on a two-dimensional surface.

Painting

 

The learner will be able to compare and contrast the pigments, vehicles, properties and methods of working with oils, acrylics, and watercolors.

 

  

 

The learner will be able to demonstrate his skill in various techniques of working with oils, acrylics, and watercolors, by completing a painting using each type of medium.

Art History

 

The learner will be able to compare and contrast the works of art and architecture from Pre-historic times to the Renaissance.

 

  

 

The learner will be able to explore the role the artist and his work played during the periods listed above and compare them to current trends in art.
