The learner will be able to understand how the
elements of art can be used to convey ideas and express emotion.
The learner will be able to use basic design vocabulary
to analyze and critique works of art.

Elements of Design and Composition
|
|
The learner will be able to understand and implement
the elements of line, shape, positive and negative space, value, texture
and color in a piece of artwork.
|
|
The learner will be able to recognize and implement
the following design layouts: grid,
distorted grid, symmetrical, asymmetrical, transitional, and radial.
The learner will be
able to describe and demonstrate the difference between representational
art, non-objective art and abstract art.

|
The learner will be able to practice the following
drawing skills: contour line drawing, continuous line drawing, and shading
to create a three-dimensional illusion on a flat surface.
|
|
The learner will be able to complete drawings using the
elements of one and two point perspective.
|
|
The learner will be able to complete portraits drawn
from three different angles: front view, profile, and three-quarters view.
|
|
The learner will be able to create a work of art on
the computer by incorporating the use of a scanner and Adobe Photoshop.
|
