Music - Grade 5 Band

 

 

 

Melodic Treatment

 

The learner will be able to describe and demonstrate mostly step-wise and some skip-wise motion with larger steps permissible in woodwinds.

 

  

 

The learner will be able to describe and demonstrate a very limited use of accidentals.

 

  

 

The learner will be able to describe and demonstrate four and eight measure phrases.

 

  

 

The learner will be able to describe and demonstrate simple two-part counterpoint.

 

  

 

The learner will be able to demonstrate fluidity in Concert Bb, Eb, and F Major.

 

  

 

 

 

Harmonic Treatment

 

The learner will be able to describe and demonstrate some interval relationships ie: unisons, thirds, fourths, fifths, sixths, and octaves.

 

  

 

The learner will be able to describe and demonstrate major and minor triads.

 

  

 

 

 

Musical Maturity

 

The learner will be able to describe and demonstrate rhythmic pulse.

 

  

 

The learner will be able to describe and demonstrate ritardandos.

 

  

 

The learner will be able to describe and demonstrate tempo changes only after fermatas.

 

  

 

The learner will be able to describe and demonstrate limited dynamic variations.

 

  

 

The learner will be able to describe predictable binary or ternary forms.
