Social Studies - Grade 4

 

 

 Regions of the United States

 

The learner will be able to identify and describe the natural features and economy of each region.

 

  

 

The learner will be able to locate the states and capitals of each region.

 

 

 

  

 

The learner will be able define interdependence and describe how each region relies on the other region..

 

  

 

The learner will be able to design, create, and present assigned projects that examine specific regional topics.

The learner will be able to describe the Chicago Fire and explain its effect on the development of the city.

 

 

 

  

 

The learner will be able to select people who played a major role in the growth of Chicago and justify why they were important.

 

  

 

 

 

The learner will be able to identify significant landmarks, skyscrapers and places to visit in Chicago.

The learner will be able to recognize, read, and interpret data from maps, charts, and graphs.

 

  

 

The learner will be able to define geography and recognize that it is comprised of both physical and cultural features.

The learner will be able to compare and contrast the three branches of the national government.

 

  

 

The learner will be able to differentiate between rights and responsibilities of a citizen and demonstrate how 4th graders can practice rights and responsibilities.
